Guests enjoy the southern charm of Mark's Twain's Louisiana at Disney's
Port Orleans Riverside Resort in Lake Buena Vista (Fla.), within two
miles of Epcot®, Downtown Disney®, and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water
Park. MGM Studios and Magic Kingdom are both just five miles away.
Of course, the hotel offers complimentary transportation to all the
Disney theme parks.
The resort, located on the Sassagoula River, is reminiscent of the
hey day of the Mississippi River, with a steam boat-themed lobby and
a huge paddlewheel near Boatwright's Dining Hall. The resort offers
guests two distinct styles of architecture, including the rustic charm
of the lodges in Alligator Bayou area and the sweeping grace of Magnolia
Bend's antebellum mansion. The resort offers six swimming pools, an
arcade, a restaurant, food court, and a snack shop. One of the pools
is on a three-acre complex called Ol' Man Island, created to look
like an old-time water hole with rope swings, a waterslide and a play
area.
Nearby fishing holes are stocked for catch and release fun. Guests
can also rent bicycles and boats. On selected evenings, there's
a campfire on the bayou behind the Fishin' Hole. Romance and fun
are available nightly, in the horse-drawn carriage rides throughout
the resort. Groceries, sundries and Disney gifts are available at
Fulton's General Store.
Guestrooms are decorated with rustic and antebellum themes, and
each features Internet access, voicemail, in-room safes, cable television
and many have views of the courtyard, the landscaped grounds or
the river. Refrigerators are available upon request.
Louisiana's charm and Disney's magic are both at the Port Orleans
Riverside Resort.
